I understand that the XCP-ng pro support has to do with the hypervisor, and the XOA support deals with the orchestrator.

My question is - since everything having to do with the hypervisor is managed by the orchestrator - how do we differentiate between which of the two any particular support issue falls under?

If, for example, we bought only the XOA Premium subscription (which includes the "Premium support level"), but not the XCP-ng pro support, what issues would we NOT be able to get help for?

        Hi,

It's a very good question and that's why we are working on our new "Vates virtualization" bundles: basically, you'll have one pricing for the whole stack (both XCP-ng and XOA together).

XOA "alone" support doesn't make sense anymore anyway. That's also why XOA as a standalone product (and XCP-ng) will probably get removed in favor of those new bundles.

To answer your question on how it works now until the next months: if there's a problem during a backup because your storage, if there message tells "VDI SNAPSHOT FAILED. This is a XCP-ng error", obviously, you won't be covered because it's likely a storage issue, not a Xen Orchestra issue.

If you want to have more info on our future bundle pricing, please contact us for an offer on https://vates.tech/contact/
