      Hi folks,

does anyone have an idea how to name the disks based on the hostname or uuid of the VM? Or do you think the idea is useless?

I have only recently become involved with XCPNG and XOA, but in my professional context we name the disks similarly.

      Greetings,
      Andi

        Hi Andi,

        And welcome!

So your idea is to have an auto naming of the disks based on the VM name, right? eg if the VM name is "foobar" then your disks will be automatically named "foobar_disk" right?

@olivierlambert Damn are you real or a chat bot?! 🙂

Thank you for your fast response.

Yes, that's the simple idea! It would be great, if users could use variables in every form, during the creation process...

@marcungeschikts we'll discuss how hard it is to do this.

@olivierlambert Thanks, but you don't have to.
                  It would be nice.

Not something we want to fix in XO5, I've added it to our roadmap for XO6
