      Hello
does anyone know of a clever way to automatically import cloudinit templates/files from a versioned repo (e.g. github) rather than edit them in XO?

      Michael.

So you'd like to get updated Cloudinit saved template for you use configuration to be updated via a Github merge on master for example?

@olivierlambert good morning. I’m thinking that it would be good to use a GitHub repo for our cloudinit files because we could use features like “issues” to manage requests from users for new configs and/or changes to existing configs. There’s be much better visibility and audit around who changed a cloudinit configuration, and why they changed it. We’d also use PRs to ensure that someone with specific expertise is cloudinit reviewed proposed changes.

Your pre-recorded Cloudconfig own setup is user-wide (so per user). It won't be universal for everyone.
