      Hello
      WE have a vmware infra
      I test xcp-ng and xen orchestra

      For the vmware backup WE use networker and datadomain with ddbosst si WE have source dedup

      Do you have same process with xo backup
      Do you have source dedup or not ?

      Regards

        Hi,

        Sadly I understood only half of the post, but I can answer the last question, and the short answer is no 🙂 (but we have compression). If you want dedup, you can use a NAS supporting dedup so it will be transparent for XO 🙂

          Yes the datadomain (backup appliance) use dedup
          But it will be the destination dedup so all segment are send yo the datadomain and After datadomain take the dedup
          With source dedup the backup server take the dedup and After send the modify segment
          So with with xo backup i think the backup take lot of much Time to process

          I will configuré that and test on somes servers

            We do a differential backup, so we only send the changed blocks, but for each disk. I suppose it's not as fast of whatever you used with VMware, but I can also assume it's a bit cheaper, right?

              @olivierlambert

              Sure
              It was just a question
              I know WE don't have same infra or feature IS not vmware but thé stack IS really good and interesting
              And i Saw Comvault IS compatible with your stack and WE will replace networker with Comvault during next year
