    • Pool Storage wont connect to 2nd host

      Good afternoon,

I have a small Pool of 2 hosts. I have a PureStorage device that I use for SR's.
I have a production SR that works 100% on both hosts.
I have created a new LUN on that PS device (LUN 6) I create the SR, Format it, and it attaches to the the first host without issue.
The 2nd host it will not connect to:
If I build the SR in XenCenter I see this error >
      0767ab86-1771-4d55-ab58-a1680ae4f9e6-image.png
If I build the SR in XOA i see this error in the Log>
SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_47(, The SR is not available [opterr=[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/disk/by-scsid/3624a9370ab52430403ee4bb800011bce'], )
      The information looks correct
      7bbf21e1-d356-4564-8bde-6a0366e5d75b-image.png

Any idea's why this is happening?!
Any pointers would be very valuable.

      Thanks,
      Andrew

    • RE: Import OVA silently fails

I have tried to use a SR that is used for ISO:

      xo-upload-ova --upload Spiceworks-Production.ova 1fee8757-644e-2bce-beb0-9f85380a5842 --override 'nameLabel=test' descriptionLabel='Spiceworks' memory=json:671088640 disks.vmdisk1.descriptionLabel='disk description' disks.vmdisk1.capacity=json:1342177280

The issue of course is, how do i get the settings for disk size and memory. When i try to:

       xo-upload-ova --inspect Spiceworks-Production.ova 1fee8757-644e-2bce-beb0-9f85380a5842

It doesn't know where that file is, does it have to be on a Local SR to XOA?

    • RE: Import OVA silently fails

The VM is 138GB. I read those instructions, what i am failing to understand is where and how I point it to my local disk? Do you have an example of using a file in C:\Export (on a windows box)?

The example the OVA appears to be local to XOA?

      Please advise,
      Thank you

After making those changes, it got further, but still halted at about 10%. (I upped to 8GB RAM)

They appear to have stopped VMs! Any ideas?

    • Import OVA silently fails

      Hello,

So I exported a VM from VMWare as OVA. I did this test first on a windows 10 install, with no vmware tools installed, exported as OVA and imported into XCP-NG without issue. Then i took a VM that has been running for years, and removed vmware tools, and exported as OVA. When I import it, it shows up importing disk or what have you on the Tasks page, but then after some time it just silently disappears. Nothing shows up in the log.

I have including a screen shot of it importing:
      The Selected VM
      b6185781-bd19-44a0-a3a2-950d49d6098c-image.png

The Import under-tasks [This runs until a large percent, i think like 30-40% range, i tend to miss exsactly when it fails]
      3e2fb8da-eaa5-49e7-b671-b01df055464f-image.png

Then when i select the logs tab: Nothing

Is there a physical location i can check for these? /var/logs? or something to see what is causing this import to vaporize?

      Any hints would be appreciated.
      Thank you,
      Andrew
