    • Replaced Tianocore UEFI Logo with XCP-ng Logo

      Hello,

I have replaced the Tianocore Logo with the XCP-ng Logo. If anyone needs it, I can share the RPM with you. Here is a Screen of it how it looks like. I can't upload the RPM to the before because I get an Error when I try it.
To replace the Logo I have used the Package edk2-20180522git4b8552d-1.3.2.src.rpm from the Citrix Hypervisor 8.0 Source and downloaded your Docker Image to rebuild packages.
I have installed the SRPM and extracted then the edk2-20180522git4b8552d.tar.gz and replaced the Logo.bmp File under MdeModulePkg/Logo. Then I have repakced the Folder edk2-20180522git4b8552d again as tar.gz and created the SPEC FIle and then I have compiled it. The compile RPM I have installed in XCP-ng, restarted the Toolstack and then I had this Logo there. I find it nicer then the Tianocore Logo.

    • Xen Orchestra Webpage not working correctly via Netscaler

      Hello,

I have tried to make the Xen orchestra Homepage available via the Citrix Netscaler. When I open the Webpage then via the Netscaler then it doesn't load completely. I tried it also with a NGINX as Reverse Proxy before and there I have seen, that there are HTTP 304 requests, which maybe the Netscaler can't handle or there are wrongly send by the Embeeded HTTP Server of Xen Orchestra. I use the latest Version from Git and I have installed it from the Sources.

Is there any fix by this or is this maybe a Bug of the Netscaler which can't handle this requests proberly?

I have attached also a Screenshot how it looks like.

      Thanks for any help.

    • RE: XenServer 8.0 - Major update due Q1 2019

I have removed the Feature Restricton of Corosync, that it is also available, because it is availbale in the Citrix Hypervisor 8, but I think you aren't allow to distribute this Feature, as it isn't Open Source. I wanted to test the GFS2 Feature.
I have added Corosync in additional_feature and in keys_of_additional_features the same I also did for the UEFI Secureboot.
I added it in additional_feature with the Name "GuefiSecureBoot" and in "keys_of_additional_features" with "GuefiSecureBoot, (Negative, "restrict_guefi-secureboot");"

I hope it is clear what I did. 🙂
I forgot to save the patch File otherwise I could send it to you. The Compilation of the Package was done with your xcp-ng-build-env.

I have installed the Citrix Hyperivsor 8 and recompiled your xcp-featured Package and modified it a little bit for the new Features like UEFI Secureboot. It seems to be working so far. I just use this for my Homelab.

    • RE: Smartmontools

@Pete-S Can you maybe send me your E-Mail Address? Then I can send it to you. The RPM has around 250KB.

    • RE: Smartmontools

@Pete-S I have compiled a RPM for nvme-cli. I can share it to you if you want to test it. Currently I don't have a nvme to test it, but the command "nvme" works in CLI.

olivierlambert Should I also share the RPM to you, that you can upload it for testing, if you are interested in it?

    • RE: Smartmontools

It is always the best to test it first on a test system before you install something to production and break something.

    • RE: Smartmontools

I just tried it also on XCP-ng 7.6 and there the RPM also works for me. See also attached Screenshot with old Version and then the Version after I have installed the RPM.

    • RE: Smartmontools

I have send you the E-Mail with the RPM for the Smartmontools. Maybe you can test it also on XCP-NG if it works correctly there.

    • RE: Smartmontools

I have compiled a Smartmontools 6.5.1 Version with xcp-ng-build-env as RPM, but I couldn't upload here. Is it maybe possbile that I can share you the Package olivierlambert that you an upload it? I have tested it on a XenServer 7.6 because I didn't have a XCP-NG Host installed right now, but I think it should work.

      I attached also an Screenshot.smartmontools.PNG

    • RE: Introduce yourself!

I have virtualization as hobby and I used Xenserver 7.2 before XCP-ng. I use it mainly in my home environment. In my freetime I am working together with borzel to build the XenCenter for XCP-ng. I am currently build the MSI installer for it.
