@olivierlambert i am currently nuking the host. I will document everything i do..right here on the forums..so in the event I am screwing up(which is highly likely) i'll take my licks. If not then hopefully you will believe me when i say something isn't right..:)

RE: Remove XOA from xcp-ng host
@hescominsoon said in Remove XOA from xcp-ng host:
xe vm-destroy vm=XOA
so the xe command gets me a guid error..so I have to go find the guid. No worries there.the first command gives me the interface i was referring to and in that interface it is not giving me the option to delete a vm..allow me to provide screenshots:

https://etc-md.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/vm-menu4.pngI do not have the option to delete vms here.....and i do not see the ability to delete vm's anywhere else in that interface.

You can delete XOA by logging on the host, either:
- from the TUI (
xsconsole
if you SSH, otherwise it's on the host screen) - from the CLI (
xe vm-destroy vm=XOA
)
thanks!

What?
how do i delete xoa? From what I can tell you cannot use xoa to delete itself. If i go to the ip of the host itself..i get the control for the host itself and there's no ability to delete a vm..i can start one..or stop it..that's it

RE: build XOA from source on host
@olivierlambert as i detailed in our email conversation:
once i deploy XOA on the host. The username and password i set for the xoa vm do not work. The defaults have been removed. I wind up having to ssh in..reset the credentials..then I can log in. Another issue that has cropped up is the xoa vm doesn't start automatically at the host boot.
I've run vmware esxi on this box without troubles. I've run Hyper-v on this machine without issues. I am not saying xcp-ng is garbage..but I am running into issues that I think should NOT be present. I am going to be slicking the host completely(again) and start over and document step by step what I am doing. If you spot a flaw..feel free to let me know...:) -

It's a VM, so you should be able to just delete it.
not that i can see inside the control interface of the host itself. I am not given that option.

RE: build XOA from source on host
@olivierlambert nope there's no confusion in my issues...i know EXACTLY how the issues started and i have NOT tried building from source. My issues are with the pre approved quick install of XOA...not building XOa from source..

RE: build XOA from source on host
@danp yeah i REALLY do not want to setup another vm that has to be maintained PLUS the XOA inside it..hence the dom0 question. so the short answer is no...i cannot use the host to build XOA from source..:)
so if i want to build from source I have to setup a vm inside of the host and then use that vm to build from source...okies..not what I wanted but it's the answer..:)

RE: build XOA from source on host
@olivierlambert no it's not.. I have NOT tried this on the host. The issues i brought up are another thing entirely.

build XOA from source on host
Is there a way to build the XOA from source directly on the xcp-ng host without using the quick install?
