If you have 3 VMs that each have a 5TiB disk and you want to back up all of them you need at least 3x5=15TiB on the SR for the initial snapshots. Then you also need some extra GiBs or TiBs for the deltas.

The workaround is to set up the SR as EXT, instead of LVM.
Then it's using thin provisioning, meaning that the snapshot only uses as much space as you have data in each 5TiB disk.
So if your VMs are only using 1,3 and 4 TiB of actual disk space then you only need an SR that's 1+3+4=8 TiB + the extra space for the deltas.

                  Please read https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/backup_troubleshooting.html#vdi-chain-protection

If you get to this point, it means you are doing snapshots outside Xen Orchestra

I don't understand what you mean by "empty disk".

That doesn't help me at all. Also remember I'm not using XCP-ng Center myself. So I really don't get it. Please be really clear, because this way people will be more kindly to help, than trying to understand what you mean exactly.

That looks like an "orphaned" disk, which should be fine to delete. You can view any existing instances of these by selecting "Orphaned disks" from the filter in the bottom right.

If you experience these on every backup, then there's something off in your setup.

Hard to say what would cause this issue. What version of xo-server / xo-web are you currently running?

You are out-of-date again. Latest is 5.59.x, and there will likely be another release around EOM.

Every day have pool-master orpharned disks and I delete it.
                                            Why does that happen?
