Project Pyrgos
-
I just saw the blog post for project Pyrgos. This is exciting - especially since 90% of my usage of XCP-NG is to create k8s clusters. I currently have a messy IAC setup that utilizes Terraform and Ansible to provision a cluster. It works but streamlining that process would be great.
I've looked for more information about Pyrgos here but can't really find anything besides the original blog post. Is there more information that I'm missing?

Hi @slynch
We have an internal backlog with the next steps to improve the current recipe, including:
- creating a cluster with multiple control plane (instead of one)
- store the cluster key so XO can access the cluster and get some commands (like cluster state, k8s version and so on)
- and then provide actions like upgrading the cluster to a more recent version with a "rolling cluster upgrade"
If you have some specific requirements or things you'd like to get streamlined, let us know

Any updates on the Pyrgos developments? It's been a while since the announcement. One blog post from last fall indicated that you hired someone to take the development. Any 2024 updates?
-
Yes, we are working with @shinuza to get features, stay tuned

@olivierlambert Would also love an update on this, most of my use with XCP-NG is spinning up light weight linux disros to run k0s... would be awesome to skip this step and have a similar tool built into XOA/XCP-NG

We are also interested in running a production level kubernetes environment via XOA. Any updates on this?

I just found that there's a milestone for v1 that says it'll be done 6/28.

We made various updates recently (see the latest XO release blog post).

Can you provide a link to the Pyrgos updates that you mentioned? I looked through the XO blog and didn't find it. Thanks.

@Danp thanks for the link.
@olivierlambert
The update that you gave in March is exciting. Thank you. It's been seven months since then. Any updates? -
We had to reorg a bit the team, with the creation of an internal devops team. We hope to get some cool news in the following months
