Hi, just moved to XCP-ng 8.3.0 from ESXi 8.0 U2 and am having an issue with the VM displays being slow/laggy.

VMs are of both Windows 10 and Linux (ZorinOS 16.3 and 17.3 which are based on Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 respectively). Xen Guest Utilities are installed.

When trying to use VMs with displays set to 1920x1080 they are extremely laggy/slow. As i continue to lower the resolution it gets better.

The issue occurs in the console on XO Lite/XO and in RDP (RustDesk). Issue is most prevalent on the Linux VMs and occurs in both Wayland and Xorg desktops. Occurs in both imported ESXi VMs and new VMs (did a test install of ZorinOS 17.3)

I have VGA enable in the settings, video memory set to 16MiB and UEFI resolution set to 1920x1080. Turning off the VGA settings results in no change. Changing the VMs from UEFI to BIOS results in no change.

Server is a Minisforum MS-A1, Ryzen 9900X, 96GB 5200MHz RAM, Mirror 4TB Samsung 990 Evo Plus. iGPU has 1GB RAM assigned to it.

        Hi,

How are you accessing those VMs?

@olivierlambert Primarily RDP via RustDesk using direct IP on same network.
