Moved a VDI to a new SR, but something is left behind?

I moved a disk from one SR to another, but there seems to be something left behind. Is this a snapshot, or something that needs to remain? It claims to belong to "Control domain" on the host that runs the VM in question. I removed the one snapshot (delta) from the VM, but the file remains.

During a transfer it's normal to have a snapshot attached to the control domain. But it's not when it's done. You can remove it.

It should. However, sometimes (probably a race condition in the host) left them behind.

That's even why we added a dedicated section in Dashboard/Health view in XO: "VDIs attached to Control Domain".

I see. Is this a upcoming feature? I can't find this in my dashboard (Enterprise level). Its not mentioned in the manual https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/visualizations.html or https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/health.html

Simply removing them doesnt work. Claims VDI in use. Do I simply disconnect it first?

It's not in the manual but it's in XO. "Doesn't work": can you be more specific? If it's VDI in use, it means there is probably still an activity on the host with this disk (did you detach it first by the way?)

I had to detach the VDI from Control Domain before being able to click Delete in XO.

There is one issue left. The coalece seems to be stuck, and so no backups are working.

As far as I can tell by looking at the VMs and the SRs through XO the cd1ed780-1ae5-448d-8dc2-45fdb104c303.vhd or 07fac705-d047-4ae6-ae1c-9858a06699cb.vhd doesn't belong to any VM.

Likely orphaned VDIs. Removing them should fix coalesce.
