Run an backed-up VM from an NFS-Share

Hi!
We're doing Backups from our VMs on an NFS-Share and for the purpose of speed issues in an disaster recovery case we thought about running the VM - which should be recovered - directly from the NFS-Share without migrating it to an XCP-NG-Node...
Is this possible with XCP-NG and XOA? I think with VMWare it's no problem...

Can't directly answer your question, but it would be beneficial if you told us the type of backup you are performing (full, delta, etc).

What you need is called "DR" or "CR": the VM is "somehow" copied regularly on another SR (that can be NFS). If you lose the original VM, then just start the backup, no import/recovery time.

If you have .vhd files on your NFS share, you can attach those directly to a VM and use them without moving them around (maybe you'll need to rename then or something, but it is possible to use the .vhd files on the NFS share).
.vhd files don't contain the VM metadata, so you'll need to have a skeleton or create a new template to attach them to.

How can I get this *.vhd-Files? Do I have to give XOA as "Backup-Type" an .vhd-File? At the moment my created fiels are *.xva-Files....

The best option is to use Disaster Recovery, or both DR with your current backup. It's the easiest way. Please watch the video I posted.
