I have a VM that I created with 8GB of ram. I then wanted to up it to 32GB and so I made the chage on the General tab. When I start up the VM everything looks good.

      XCP-ng: 8.2
      XO-Web: 5.77.0
      XO-Server: 5.74.1

My question is when I look at the Advanced tab, I see Static and Dynamic memory with different values while the max is my 32GB.

      Static: 512MiB/32GiB
      Dynamic: 1GiB/32GiB

Can anyone explain the difference in how the Static and Dynamic are used and should those values be what they are.

      Thanks

Here is a good explanation: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xencenter/7-1/dmc-about.html

Static can only be set while the VM is offline. Dynamic can be changed in live.

⚠ When you'll live migrate a VM, it will be decreased to the dynamic min. So take care to use a value that's higher than your VM operating system minimum RAM usage.
