Why XOA did not restore the backup to a vm, but a template
-
Running environment:
- host A ,host b be installed xcp-ng 8.2, which are standalone servers
- xoa version 5.62.1
Testing process:
- I perform a full backup of a running vm on host A, where the snapshot mode is set to with memory.
- I was on host B and used this backup to restore, but instead of restoring it as a vm, it became a template.
My question is: why XOA did not restore the backup to a vm, but a template
-
Hmm weird, it shouldn't be a template
@julien-f ? -
I get this too with some back ups but not all. Not had chance to work out what results in what though

@ninghe This is curious, you're sure you did a full backup (XVA) and not a delta backup?
-
@julien-f absolutely

@ninghe Are A and B identical servers? No shared storage? Does it work if you use normal snapshot mode?
