      Hi All,

Been a bit, I'm working with a new organization and they have several XCP-ng hosts, one of them has many detached backups.

Is there a safe way of cleaning this up that will retain the backups that are actually healthy. Below you'll find a sample screenshot of what I'm seeing.

        Hi Dustin,

Pretty sure this simply means that the associated VM no longer exists. Did they delete the VM(s)?

I'm thinking so, the issue that I have is that the prior person in this role has left the organization, so I was hoping to find a way to cross reference the VM's above with their UUID as there are several VMs with identical names.

          Also how have ya been?

I wonder if the backups would "reattach" if you restored the most recent backup? 🤔

I've been hanging in there. I will be looking for work in the new year. How about you?

I just started this new gig about 1.5 weeks ago, it'll be good for me. The last place was horrible for my health.

Took a pay raise and benefits too, so I can't complain.

Glad you've been hanging in there.

Hey, nice to see you managed to find a new position while still having XCP-ng around 👋

The timing isn't bad 😉 We'll keep you posted on our certification program BTW, should be easy for you (and probably other people here) to validate one 😄

@DustinB I understand that it does not appear there because the original VM does not exist. The reason could be that when recovering the VM before an emergency the UUID changed and these backups were left behind, I believe that there would be no reason to leave them there if you have new backups of the VM that is being executed or except for some other punctual reason. that your organization needs.

                      Greetings

Thanks, that's what I'm thinking as well, I'd love to compare UUID's to validate that. Just don't know if there is a relatively easy means of doing that.
