Is v6 preview not available on XO from source?
-
just updated XO (source) to 4cf03, wanted to check out v6, but when i enter http://10.10.10.42/v6 (usually use RP but wasn't sure if that was a problem so entered IP directly)
I just get a 'Cannot GET /v6'
-
@Ashkaan you can run xoa alongside your normal configuration if you want to preview it.
-
Hi,
It's pre-configured correctly only with XOA for now, not the sources yet.
-
@olivierlambert ah ok, cool, just tried it in XOA and voila. Have a nice weekend.
-
i was going to post, "wouldn't from sources make the most sense?", as it would be a fertile testing ground...and then I deployed XO with a trial account and....there is literally nothing there other than the left tree and the console for running vms...so when is this coming out...2035?

First post, welcome @Gaiking, I'm sure your participation will be appreciated by the team working hard on this.
If you missed some episode, please go read our various blog post demonstrating what's happening under the hood:

If you want to accelerate things even further, as everything is Open Source, we'll be pleased to review your contributions!

@Gaiking Wow, a little harsh don't you think? If you've been around XCP-NG/XO for any length of time at all you'd know development actually happens at a pretty miraculous pace.

@olivierlambert Hi Olivier,
Is there any time frame when the preview will be in the built from sources version? If you spin up XOA do you have to register XOA to get a look at the great work you guys are doing. Thanks in advance.
-
@brezlord It's not in the sources version yet, at least as of a build I did a few days ago, haven't checked the actual code.
But if you want to test it out, you can do it with XOA free edition, not sure if it works without registering (but I think it does), but since it's free to do so there is no cost to try it out.
-
@planedrop Thanks. I have deployed XOA and there is no v6 preview available. I did not register for a trial licence.
-
@brezlord It's there. You have to modify the URL by adding
/v6
(before the #) -
@Danp said in Is v6 preview not available on XO from source?:
/v6
All I get is "Cannot GET /v6" printed in the browser.
-
@brezlord Ah... ok.. That makes sense because you haven't registered and updated the appliance. We don't build a new appliance with each release of XOA, so the version is older when it is initially deployed.
You need to update to a later release for the v6 preview to be available. It should work without needing to start a trial, but you likely need to at least register it.
-
That was it. Once updated through the XOA web app I can now see the v6.
Thanks,
Looking Good. -
@brezlord, how did you update exactly?
I have commit: 79ce9 (the latest as of this writing) and it still doesn't have "v6".
-
@Ashkaan The v6 preview is currently not available in XO from sources. You would need to deploy an instance of XOA to have this option.
-
Oh! Ok, I misunderstood the thread.
Thanks so much!
-
We made the route and the build in XOA because it's easier for us, you just need to register/update, no trial is even needed to enjoy it
-
@olivierlambert I think I would lose the ability to backup, no?
-
@Ashkaan you can run xoa alongside your normal configuration if you want to preview it.
-
@sluflyer06 Ah, that's perfect.
