      Question:

How can I take back control automatic snapshots?
      (can't find existing snapshot job)

      The problem:

I'm seeing daily snapshots for my older VMs, the snapshots are being retained for a week then removed. The name of the snapshots is "[XO Backup VM Daily Snapshots] backups".

There are no backup jobs at all enabled in the Backup->Overview page. However in the Backup->Health page, I see these snapshots in the "Detached VM snapshots" list with a reason: "Missing job".

I've had xcp-ng running for a few years and I seem to recall (but I'm not certain) that on the Snapshots page, there used to be a button for Scheduling Snapshots, but I don't see it now.

@emintz Do you see a job named "VM Daily Snapshots" on the Backups > Overview tab? If not, then I would check for another instance of XO(A) running somewhere.

@Danp thanks for the reply. Nope - they don't show on the overview.

Maybe you have another XO somewhere. Jobs are stored and managed by XO, not XCP-ng. Check the audit log of your XCP-ng host, you'll see which IP address is sending the snapshot order at the time of this snap.

@emintz I guess you missed this part of my post. 😉

If not, then I would check for another instance of XO(A) running somewhere.
