    • RE: Single or Dual CPU Hosts - Any reasons to choose one over the other?

      @Pilow, this is very true. I should have been a little more specific. The two options we are considering are a 32-core single CPU and dual 16-core CPUs. So, the total core count is the same.

    • Single or Dual CPU Hosts - Any reasons to choose one over the other?

      Re: Any performance advantage of running a dual CPU setup when using under half of the cores?

      We are reviewing our system design and have the option to purchase new Dell systems. We are considering a single CPU system 6615 with an Epyc 9354 (3.25 GHz with 256M Cache) - and a dual CPU system 6625 with dual EPYC 9124 (3.0 GHz with 64M Cache). All other specs are the same. The number of VMs and the loads on the CPUs can run in either system, and we are not constrained by memory requirements. The decision comes down to about a $1K difference per host. The environment consists of 3 hosts, so $3K difference. I am open to all opinions and welcome your thoughts.

    • RE: Three-node Networking for XOSTOR

      @olivierlambert
      Thank you. I will review the documentation again to confirm the number of ports needed for the storage networking as a different set of adapters from the VM networking.

    • Three-node Networking for XOSTOR

      I'm sorry if this was mentioned in another post.
      I am looking for the best practice for networking with three hosts together as an XOSTOR cluster. Should we connect each host to the other two directly, or should we connect the hosts together with a storage switch (or storage VLANs) in the primary switch?

      This project will be for servers running the VMS Essentials Plus suite. We must compare options for an HCI solution against some other type of shared storage.

      We have deployed similar sites with a two-node solution in VMware and a different HCI solution. However, if the pricing is competitive, we would really like to move to XCP-ng.

      Thank you.

    • XO License Costs

      We have a particular project that we are planning and costs are a significant concern. If we purchase the Premium license for XO, would we be required to have support for our hosts?
      Our hope is that we would only need XO to get some advanced features, but that we would operate without support on the hosts.
