      Sirs,

      We have faced multiple occurrences of server failures while using xcp-ng.
      We are using version 8.2. And ISO is booted on HPE physical servers.

      Please help us to diagnose this issue. Where can we find root cause for such behavior.

      Attaching event info. ![XCP-ng error.PNG](/forum/assets/uploads/files/1705331906738-xcp-ng-error.pnXCP-ng error_1.PNG g)

        @lritinfra Hi !

        As said in https://docs.xcp-ng.org/troubleshooting/log-files/, you can check the various log files to see what causes the crash. Check also /var/crash

          Hi @lritinfra

          You may want to share some additional details on your environment, such as --

          • total number of servers in the pool
          • type of shared storage
          • are you running xcp-ng 8.2 or 8.2.1?
          • are all servers up-to-date on patches?
          • are you running the latest BIOS?
          • etc

            1. total number of servers in the pool -->6 physical servers with close to 12-14 VMs
            2. type of shared storage --> SAN attached storage
            3. are you running xcp-ng 8.2 or 8.2.1?--> 8.2
            4. are all servers up-to-date on patches? --> Ubuntu 22.04 with all latest patches
            5. are you running the latest BIOS? --> Yes

              I'm guessing that your hosts are NOT being updated with patches / fixes. v8.2.1 is a maintenance release from almost two years ago, and there have been countless updates since then.

              You should read the official docs on the proper update methods, paying particularly close attention to --

              • the warnings about disabling HA before performing an upgrade, and
              • the requirement to update the pool master first

                Thanks for guidance.

                We are aware about release version 8.2.1, as mentioned in official docs it is a maintenance update. Will it cause any issues ?

                Is there any updates/patches after 8.2.1 as well ?
                As we can see only 8.2.1 oficially.

                  As a general rule, you MUST keep all your hosts up to date. If you update normally, you will be on a 8.2.1
