      Installing XOSTOR on 8.3: Is this ready to go or are we still "on-hold"?

          @fatek Just for information, the current version 8.3 is not usable without major problems. Hower, I rebased recently all the LINSTOR sm changes from XCP-ng 8.2 to 8.3 in a new package: sm-3.2.3-1.7.xcpng8.3.x86_64.rpm, we passed the driver tests without too many problems. This RPM should be available during the month of October. Even after its release, we consider that it is not stable enough for production use until we have enough user feedback (but of course this new RPM is synchronized on all fixes and improvements of version 8.2).

          EDIT: Released on October 25, we originally planned to wait a bit. 🙂

              @ronan-a Is this new rpm available for lab testing (or we still need to wait for it's release)?

              @olivierlambert 8.3 release ETA?

                    I guess I'm on hold for now, my yum update says

                    No packages marked for update

                      @fatek Is it ok now? It can be a yum cache issue, the RPM is in the right repo: https://updates.xcp-ng.org/8/8.3/base/x86_64/Packages/

                          @ronan-a The update was successful.
                          To install XOSTOR, should I use the Linstor CLI script or the XOA gui method?

                            @fatek Use directly the XOA method, it correctly installs the dependencies + is more secure regarding the disk selection. 😉

                                    @fatek No. My understanding was that @ronan-a would be publishing another update soon.

                                      @fatek We have to release important fixes before the end of the year concerning problems with the HA which I corrected + other changes on the smapi side. I recently discussed that we should release a stable XOSTOR 8.3 version early next year in order to move forward with important projects regarding smapi v3. But I can't be categorical on a date. We lack user feedback.

                                        @ronan-a I am very interested in implementing XOSTOR on XCP-NG 8.3 in my production environment. Currently running two nodes but I can expand to 3. How can I help to create a stable release of XOSTOR? I am not a developer but maybe I can provide feedback.

                                            It's moving forward, but the priority now is the 2TiB limit.
