      Hello,
I have a single Xcp server (version 7.6) which has been working fine for a few years.

I am now in the process to migrate it to a new server and I have a couple of doubts since it will be my first hypervisor upgrade:

      • The new one will be xcp 8: is this doable? Or do I need to update the old host before?
      • Can the vm of xen orchestra (from source) be migrated as well? Od do I need to reinstall it manually?
      • I have seen that ZFS is now supported: is using it a good idea? Is it production ready? I am planning to move to ssd in the new server if it matter.

      Thank a lot!

        Hi,

        1. You can live migrate from old XCP to more recent ones. If you have issues with live migration for any reasons, then use warm migration
        2. Yes
        3. Not a good idea (if you don't want to invest more time to manage it correctly), just use local ext and you'll be fine.
