    • RE: Backup Restore resulting in Error

      @danp

I've just updated the Xen Orchestra and run apt update / upgrade to upgrade all Packages. Now the Restore works again.

There was a outdated package, because I was using Debian Buster.
They changed the stable tag to oldstable.

      Thank you so very much.

    • RE: Pool metadata Restore RESTORE_INCOMPATIBLE_VERSION

This might have worked, at that time i've allready created new VMs from the information inside the Backup xml file. It worked out allright but building VMs this way, is quite tidious.

Maybe there could be a way to find the correct installer and patches, to get a new host in a state to restore a pool backup, would be good.

    • Pool metadata Restore RESTORE_INCOMPATIBLE_VERSION

      Hi,
i had a XCP-NG Hosts boot disk die on me today. And offcourse XO was on this host and this host 🙂

I've installed XCP-NG on a new disk and got XenOrchestra talking to the Backup Storage again. I've also got the old vm storage SR reattatched to the new xcp-ng .

When trying to restore the pool metadata, XO gives me a RESTORE_INCOMPATIBLE_VERSION error.
The backed up pool metadata shows a XAPI_Build of 24.19.2 ( "date": 20240919T08:48:21Z",) and the new install is the latest iso... so XAPI_build 26.1.11. ( date: 20260707T07:40:12Z). (I must have forgotten to update this one, because the other hosts where up to date.)

Is there any way of restoring the old pool data to the new host.

      Thanks in advance
      Felix

I've been using the ronivay/XenOrchestraInstallerUpdater script and the log states 2f607357c663fc8481c0c5ef24bd242b6d3338c3 as the last commit on 2021-12-01

    • Backup Restore resulting in Error

      Hi,

I've run into a Situation, where I need to restore a backup of a VM.
Everytime i want to restore a backup i get the same error:

      Values have same structure but are not reference-equal:Buffer(16) [Uint8Array] [ 81, 165, 214, 37, 41, 177, 73, 140, 150, 193, 249, 47, 234, 209, 165, 13 ]

The Backup is a delta backup and no matter whitch delta backup i want to resotre this error appears. I've also tried a different Host but also no luck.

Did anyone else have had this problem?

      Thanks in advance
      Felix
