    • Warm migration stuck at 0%

      Hello,

I've installed Xen Orchestra from the sources to test it.

I tried to do some cold migrations and they worked as expected. When I try to warm migrate a VM from a Xen Server 7.1 to a XCP-ng 8.2 the migration just doesnt leave the 0% as can be seen in the printscreen I appended.

I know that it's not suposed to migrate from XCP-ng to Xen Server but the other way should work. Also I tested warm migrate from Xen Server to Xen Server and it dind't work.

Is there something that I could be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for the help.

@olivierlambert Ok, thanks for explanation. But then how does Xen Orchestra knows whether the destination host CPU is compatible or not?

    • Incompatible CPU features on live migrations

      Hi,

A few days ago I was migrating a VM from a PowerEdge R420 to a PowerEdge 1950 and received the following warning:

      c8ab9b9d-03c5-48d3-8583-3c16c9fe0a61-imagem.png

I understand that those are distinct generations of processors and since they do not support the same instruction sets it is not safe to live migrate VMs between them.

My question is: is there some kind of compatibility matrix that Xen Orchestra uses from where I can see if the migration is ging to be possible or not?

      Thanks in advance.

Thnaks for the explanation, that's actully usefull.
I just think it deceives because it shows a percentage.

    • Connection to VM console (on <server-name>) 0%

      Hello,
When I "map" one of my servers in Settings>Servers I get this task that's stuck at 0%. "Connection to VM console (on <server-name>) 0%".
      (Printscreen below.)

Does someone knows what could be causing this?

Meanwhile I added a few more servers and it workid fine.

    • Custom fields sync between XO and Xen center

      Hello,

I've installed Xen Orchestra from the sources to test it.

I'm trying to use the custom fields and I notice that when I create a custom field in Xen Center it cyncronizes in Orchestra but the other way doesn't work. The custom fields that i create in XO don't show in Xen Center.

Is it some kind of a bug, some compatibility problem?

(In the screenshot bellow I created the field "test1" in Xen Center and "test2" in XO. As you can see only one of them syncronized correctly.)

Thanks in advance for the help.

      Currently I'm using:

      • Xen Orchestra commit 1d912
      • Master commit cf5db

I tried with XOA and it works.
