XCP-ng Center 8.0.0 released
-
Thanks @borzel for all the hard work
-
Argh! No! It doesn't support 6.5!
Yes I know it's old but I have some servers using that and migrating is out of my hands. How do I downgrade? I tried downloading 7.6 but the windows installer won't run because it detects I have a newer version.
-
Is it possible to use both XCP-ng Center and XenCenter on the same Windows session? It could be a workaround

Good thinking cheers. I already had it installed and it's working - at least for the three servers I needed it for.
-
Note that I didn't say anything about Xen Orchestra (which is working from XS 5.x to CH 8.0 and XCP-ng 8.0)

I'm still using that also
-
Wish there had been a notice that backwards compatibility was literally being nixxed. This removed compatibility with everything from XS
4.x to6.5 which is 93% of the servers I had it hooked to.If you don't mind, can you comment on that change in the release notes?
-
Unrelated but… wow! 4.x! Never heard of this version being used since we started XO project. I'm even curious: does XO work with those?
-
@mmetully just added a note to https://github.com/xcp-ng/xenadmin/releases/tag/v.8.0.0
I was not aware of this change -
Reviewed my server versions after rolling back to 7.6.3.20, that was a misunderstanding on my part. It's just 6.5 that we are primarily running that is now incompatible. I was mixing that up with another hypervisor's versioning system.
-
I just tried the help feature from the program menu, because I'm wanting to see the port numbers that it uses. It appears those are not connected to anything?
-
@apayne as listed in the release notes, there is no help until someone cares about and does the work: https://github.com/xcp-ng/xenadmin/issues/20

Did some testing with XCP-ng Center 8.0
Seems to be having strange problem. When opening XCP-ng Center for first time it's possible to migrate or move VM's. But this only works for 1 time. Doing it for second time Next button is grayed out until closing and reopening XCP-ng Center.
-
@renx999 I seem to recall someone else reporting this recently.
-
It's already fixed but not released: https://github.com/xcp-ng/xenadmin/issues/156
Release will come soon, untill that there is a working debug version in the github issue.
-
Is it me or has the 'change memory' for client disappeared in 8.0? Used to be under memory tab?
Ah, it's reported already:
https://github.com/xcp-ng/xenadmin/issues/171 -
No "Edit" button issue on my xcp-ng center 8.0.1. It's appear as normal.
-
@rizaemet-0 yeah, that's what makes it hard to debug and fix
-
Hello guys,
I have two suggestion for improving xcp-ng center:
-
New alert for storage usage (available space), ideally per storage.
-
In earlier days, maybe 4-5 years ago, all VMs had tab with log messages associated with the VM. Nowadays admin must look to alert and notifications, where all these information are on one heap.
Thank you Pavel

Hi @Polish
XCP-ng Center is only community maintained, so if you have suggestions, feel free to contribute directly
Regarding the features themselves, some are already integrated in Xen Orchestra.
