I'm setting up a redundant infrastructure for our renewable (wind and solar) applications and am going to move from our existing single tenanted vmware setup to what ever comes next.
At the moment xcp-ng is the front runner, we were within seconds of purchasing vmware licenses when I said lets try this first.
Its a bit of a learning curve having come from linux kvm and lxd containers to vmware and now this.. but I have to say the forums are amazing (having hit them up a couple of times already).
Really looking forward to this ride. Networking is the next challenge.

Indeed, we are REALLY happy of this community here, I think this is the first big success of XCP-ng: everyone gathering and helping each other!
We started on the "technical success" side, so I'm confident we'll continue to improve and innovate.
The last success we need to reach will be the commercial success (our pro support), allowing us to continue pushing resources into it

I am an IT person. I qualified as an IT Practitioner during the Summer of 2006.
I'm currently studying to become qualified as a web developer on a Bootcamp course. Utilising the HTML5, CSS, Javascript, node.js and Bootstrap etc.
I'm likely to run xcp-ng as part of a small test of it for a small set of vms on web applications during my studies. As well as possibly afterwards.
During that time there's a possibility I may upgrade the underlying bare metal. As I'm on a quite low end due to being on a low budget.
I prefer VMs over containers as it makes it easier for web applications which work like Content Management Systems (CMS). Containers make the web application immutable so you would have to separate the database from the rest of the full stack. So that when you post new content using the CMS it will update immediately without having to re-do the container's image.

So for work I usually run around in consoles and setup stuff or fix stuff so I do my part to keep the machine runningAt work we use VMware and some old hardware was free so I got it ^^ and now I want to utilize it with XCP-ng and XOA since I really like the easy webinterface and the open source'ness ^^ of XCP-ng with realeases and fixes.
So I got some knowledge in IT and I am always eager to learn something more ^^

Hi I'm Oliver Allpress, I work @ a University local to me in the South East UK. My job title is IT Service Manager (Storage and Virtualisation). My team and I manage the University's datacenters, server hardware, storage and virtualisation needs.
I came across XCP-ng on Tom Lawrence's Youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHkYOD-3fZbuGhwsADBd9ZQ ) and started getting into it.

I am Ivan from Kyiv/Ukraine. Used to work with Xen years ago - and only for x86_64 platform. Currently getting back to using latest version of XenServer for x86_64, considering starting to use it for ARM64 and looking forward for helping in porting in to MIPS.

My name looks funny to English people and misspelled to Germans (it's German). My name is Pascal FUKS.
I'm from Belgium and using Citrix Xen since the first version. I'm a former Citrix Service Provider (CSP). But, the prices became exaggerated for small customers, and my former company stopped all activities in 2017.
I'm still using and old version of Citrix Xen Server on a 3 hosts clusters and starts to prepare an XCP-ng migration.
My first goal, coming here, is to exchange with other skilled (and less skilled) members about configurations, workarounds, and nice to have features.

Hi, I am Karlis, I manage small server/network infrastructure, our VMs are hosted on Xenserver. Some time ago we needed to redesign management and backup system for our VMs and we found XO. Now we are in process to upgrade our hosts to XCP-NG.

Hello! I am Esyx. I am relatively new to virtualization. My background is mainly with consumer level hardware, and doing things on bare-metal. After playing around with an RPi for the past year or so, and exploring the things I can do in terms of self-hosting for my extended family... I have decided to start building a home lab in hopes of learning system administration, and hope to start going for certifications soon to make a career change. I chose to use XCP-NG, (also using Xen Orchestra), because I love what you guys are doing. Keep up the great work!

well, my name should be obvious, as it is displayed in that neat little html element next to the date above. What do I do? I do all sorts of IT related things in a mid-sized enterprise in Austria. Fairly new to all the virtualization stuff as I once upon a time just was just a software developer and now I sit here in a sysadmin chair XD Even the programming times were at the time Java 1.4 came out. Sooo quite a bit rusty on all edges
I am happy to say, that I can operate pretty free here. So I can test out different new things I have not seen yet and try to integrate that in our company if useful. xcp-ng is one of the things to try. -
Hello everybody, my name is Martín, from Spain (so sorry for my poor English). I've been administering xenserver since 2010, fortunatelley, not too hard, beucause it works like a charm the most of the time. After being stalled in xenserver 7.2 for years, I've finally convinced my boss to move to xcp-ng, so here I am, with a new pool of 5 Lenovo SN550 and a fresh install of XCP-NG. Initially, we are doing with xcp-ng center to smooth the transition, although I'm running a XOA VM for a long, curiously I can't register it, but it is another story that I'll post as soon as I find the correct section.

I am the CTO at a technology company, we are a big VMWare house (for now
). Really excited to dive into more XCP-NG. We did work with Citrix a couple of years ago, as a part of a very lengthy quotation process, but ultimately decided to stick with VMWare.We are a software development company, so love the fact XCP-NG is open source, and we can contribute / modify it as we see fit.
