Hi all,
I am using XenServer ON and OFF for a couple of years now. For current setup, it's our main hypervisor for Apache Cloudstack Based cloud. As ACS is orchestrator, I hardly need to touch anything at XS. But Since Citrix recent announcement about licensing, I was seriously planning for KVM. One of my friends suggested XCP-ng to me. Hence came here. I am planning to test this as soon as I get some time.
BTW, I believe XCP-NG 7.4 is compatible with ACS 4.11.1, right?

Hi @Logik and welcome!
Cloudstack support should work since the compatibility was added during April: https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/issues/2523
I can't tell for the exact integration in Cloudstack itself, you should take a look.
Note: we are at XCP-ng 7.5 today

I am a complete noob with Xen, although I've been a VirtualBox user for a decade. I was given a project at work and Xen was suggested as a solution. I worked through Fedora 28 (no joy), Debian 9.5.0 (workie but clunky), XenServer (a sledgehammer to kill a gnat and the giant does not want to let go), and then found XCP-ng...
Still getting my brain wrapped around the possibilities.
The vGPU feature is near and dear to my heart. I have release-vs-hardware issues with GPUs all of the time and this looks like it might be a way to be more productive in my troubleshooting. Haven't shot anything yet, but looking forward to it.

Hello all!
There are exciting things happening here! I am thrilled to know that there are people in the world who are ready, willing, and able to respond positively to what is certainly an unpopular move by Citrix.
I am currently supporting an environment that includes unlicensed XenServer 7.0 systems. I plan to migrate the guests from these systems to new hardware and a hypervisor for which I can obtain paid, professional support as the guests hosted on these systems are critical to running the business. XCP-ng and "Citrix Hypervisor" are both on my short list.
Thank you to Olivier ( @olivierlambert ) and associates for providing XCP-ng as an option and for offering XCP-ng Pro support.

I'm using XCP-ng for a home white box, having been on Citrix Xenserver for a few years.
I would support Citrix, but there is no subscription level for a small home-user. Now that features have been moved from Free to paid Citrix subscription, I have migrated to XCP-ng.
I have the same subscription level issue with Xen Orchestra too!I'm a long time Linux user, for the last decade or so Gentoo.
At work I use VMware, but I do not believe the pass-through flexibility matches Xen.My setup is a single host with a NAS for VM backups and a VM running Bareos very slowly!
I have a couple of graphics cards and a couple of USB cards which are passed-through at the PCI level for VM's that connect to the Lounge TV + keyboard and the Kitchen VDU + keyboard. Two of the local drives are in an mdraid config for most local storage. A windows VM on the mdraid and pass-through can comfortably handle my Son's Overwatch.I may provision a second mini-server host to run MythTV Backend and drive the TV, but I like how currently one box drives the lot and saves power.

Hi all. I'm a sysadmin for a large engineering corporation with a strong VMware background and am working in converged infrastructure now with NetApp, Cisco UCS and VMware.
I'm also the one-man IT guy for the church I attend, hosting apps like Nextcloud and Icecast, website, etc. I host the same apps at my home, as well as things like Plex, AD, and a few other things. Free ESXi was great, but I didn't have options like DR without spending a ton of money..enter XCP-ng and XO. I learned of it this year and after some initial testing, fully committed at home and at the church. pfSense runs at both sites, using VPN to connect both sites. I can do continuous replication in both directions so in case one site goes down I can bring everything up easily in the other site.
This project has made my life easier for sure, so thanks to all who have contributed! I hope to be able to contribute with what knowledge of the project I have gained in the short time I've played with it.

Hi, guys..
I don't know how active I'll be, but decide to introduce myself too...
My name is Igor. Actually I was not eager about XEN technology. I'd supposed that it is over-complicated for running couple VMs. For running more one usually were not enough resources in servers we were using.
But at my current job I got task to test storages' compatibility and performance with XCP-ng based XEN cluster. I've discovered for myself that XEN with representative XCP-ng looks pretty well. It has outstanding CLI interface and fits pretty well for automation.
So I gonna use it for my home server and definitely recommend it to people.Have a nice day to all...

Hi My name is AndrΓ© and I'am working as Webdesigner and IT-Administrator without any education. See if they can take advantage of this good XCP-NG for their company for backups and other stuff as well.
Started with computers when I was 7 year old by taking my fathers computers and "reserched them" hihi .
I have 2 server at home as my labs and locking forward to support as much as I can. Using FreeNAS as ISCSI Storage and backup for my Home (By SynkThing)
2 XCP-NG, 2 running Xeon Intel and FreeNAS is on an AMD FX8320.
Have always had Windows as OS and still do, but also using Linux Desktop on my user computer as well. They all have their benefits. (But Linux is Better in many ways I have found out)Will try to help as much as I can with what I use at home.....
Just want to say, U are all doing a great job and I want to help as well../AndrΓ©

My name is Kurt, and I've been a linux user since around 1995. Started with slackware and have enjoyed the ride ever since.
Been running all my servers on bare metal until about a year ago, when I started testing qemu/kvm on my new desktop, and installed xcp-ng on my server about a month ago.
Looking forward to trying new things and learning more about xcp-ng

@ib22003 Hello!

Hi I am Jose Vigil, a software developer and entrepreneur from Buenos Aires. I started as a LAN administrator and then moved to development.
From my working experience I am very familiar with some known technologies like VNC, TeamViewer and NX. Also servers like Proliant, AS400 with up to 120 PC in a medical healthcare facility where I implemented PEX and worked with Ghost as well. It was fun, but I moved on.
I started programming after dominating a scripting language for Windows environments called Kickstart in a community I really enjoyed making friends. Then I started coding in Acess and the list continued, havent sopped ever since. Specially cause allows me to be an entrepreneur and move ahead with my ideas. I love to do this.
From an entrepreneur standpoint since 2007 I started playing with technology and came up with ideas for using agnostic screen and interfaces over the different devices (here is my post) . First with FreeNX (partner) and team we build a mouse pointer for Android called PadKite, we forked WebKit which was awesome but we came across OEMs and we crashed. It was a lot of fun to stay up for one day at Hackers News.
After that I focused on gestures and created a mobile API called GestureKit, it was a great experience presenting it at Berkeley University. Met plenty of amazing people at the Valley and continued seeing them. The project was cool but proven that people would not remember gestures in a daily basis usage, it was acceptable to see that no project doing it so took over.
I still think that the time was not proper to advance with such innovation therefore I continue thinking its possible to create a new type of interactive thin client environment with full customization.
I am actually working in my startup, an educational social network for kids AI driven. My goal at this great site and community is to find friend with whom I can share a vision with and play with the technology to create awesome new stuff that can solve problems and ultimately demonstrate a business model. I am now learning AI that keeps me motivated.
Its great to see that this technology is renewed and I am ready to be part of a change with new ideas.
Thanks lot

Howdy all,
I'm Sam McLeod, an engineer and long time DevOps proponent based in Melbourne, Australia.
I work with an Australian Non-Profit and Charitable Organisation called Infoxchange.I'm currently moving us from XenServer 7.2 to XenServer 7.6.
I was (still am) on pretty good terms with several people at Citrix's XenServer teams but I was pretty disgusted by the change in free licensing with the release of 7.3 and I'm also the Sam McLeod replying to David here: https://xenserver.org/blog/entry/xenserver-7-3-changes-to-the-free-edition.html

Hi all!
I'm Simone Lazzaris and I've been using XenServer in the company I work for since version 4.0. I've choosen XS over VMware for the licensing (VMware licensing is just evil), the hardware support and the architecture, which I find superior.
Over the years I've always found that Citrix was keeping out from XS many features that could be very useful: hyperconverged FS (ceph or gluster), ZFS, automatic upgrades via YUM, etc.
When Citrix then changed the licensing, I was looking for an alternative. I've found XCP very intriguing; I think that if we can build a real community of developers, XCP is going to be the best VM solution for the small-medium business, hands off.
