RE: XO & XOA New Look?
@olivierlambert Sorry to ask again, but I tried this..
http://10.1.2.85/v6 (for the XO) and I get this.
Is there something missing in this link?

XO & XOA New Look?
I was looking at the images of XOLITE - and just wanted to say that is a GREAT design and layout. Which led me to ask will the XO and XOA get a new facelift? As to me XOLITE and "other" interfaces look similar to vCenter layout and was not sure if the layout design of XO LITE was something of a future look of XO and XOA?

RE: problem with export or moving VM between pools
@olivierlambert I have the github XO running on a PC (Ubuntu). Will the free one install on that? or it has to be on a XCP-NG host. I like them separate in the event all SHTF outage I do not lose all that.

RE: problem with export or moving VM between pools
@olivierlambert said in problem with export or moving VM between pools:
XOA Free is still available. Just deploy it via https://vates.tech/deploy
This XOA, is that the same as the github setup? OR is this something different?
I know of the paid version XO and the github one.
thank you for clarity on my part. -
Linode Cloud Services
I was watching a video and they were sponsored by LINODE
Are they using XCP_NG or XEN? just a customized front end? OR are there other similar setups like XCP-NG/PROMOX that these data centers use...

RE: New Rust Xen guest tools
@olivierlambert I was just curious. These agent lists installs - couldn't this be done in XO? Where after you create the VM and then under the ADVANCE Tab, have a section:
Install Guest Tools (slider) Yes /No
Drop down for the OS types that are supported INSTALLThat would be great - The more that can be automated over searching for command lines is great!
-
RE: New Rust Xen guest tools
@olivierlambert said in New Rust Xen guest tools:
deb [trusted=yes] https://gitlab.com/api/v4/projects/xen-project%252Fxen-guest-agent/packages/generic/deb-amd64/ release/
JUST A NOTE: I followed the steps in the initial post by olivier - I DID NOT use a -f like many suggested, no errors, installed and then addition items displayed as per below.
I just installed using your steps above on the debian-12.5.0-amd64-netinst.iso.
Not sure what you want us to test, but if you can let me know.. I will do my best to help. -

Is there a utility for XCP-NG that will work like VMWare P2V utility?

RE: Dell R610 TEAMED NICS in XCP-NG for LAN and iSCSI
@Danp DANP THANK YOU! You are the man. Just click on that interface and tried to find documentation. Thank you for your help - I am sure I will have a few more on this..

Dell R610 TEAMED NICS in XCP-NG for LAN and iSCSI
Teaming nics through XO.
I have a DELL R610 that has four nics - I want to set it up so 2 of the nics are teams out to the LAN and 2 nics are used for the iSCSI Connection. Can this be setup through XO host setup? OR Somewhere in the iDRAC interface? -
RE: Importing ovf appliance question
@AtaxyaNetwork To be sure I can run this on any LINUX OS?
disk.qcow2 - that is the actual name of the appliance file?
What does the 'uuidgen'.vhd - is that something that is a different name?
-
RE: Importing ovf appliance question
I know that this is 2 years old, but for @olivierlambert have you all made the script or any suggestion on converting 3rd party VM appliance files that are NOT OVA or XVA?
Thank you

RE: Dell EqualLogic PS4100
@nikade The drives I have in them are just like this (Nothing EqualLogic written on them
These work. I have one that is bad...
The SAS SSD, are labelled ENTERPRISE CLASS - and will not work.
But replacing the Enterprise Plus drives, I have reset, created the raid and new IP addresses. Just need to see if there is any firmware out there!!! Anyone? LOL.
This is the ones I wanted to try...
The F/W I think is the issue - looking at the drive at the top VE06

RE: Dell EqualLogic PS4100
@nikade Thank you.. I have checked around it is hard to really say. I have DELL ENTERPRISE CLASS CERTIFIED BY DELL SSDs, same writing as the SAS 600GB - they say Enterprise Pro on them though.
But interesting even after doing a reset 4 times, when I put back in the original drives, all the previous configurations showed back up. The older IPs and setups. Did not realize that was stored on the harddrives??????
I put the original drives back in and reset the unit. it completed the reset all green lights and at the log in. Will see how it goes from here.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions.. I really appreciate it. When this gets fully running, I will be using DELL Compellent SC2020 with flash drives... that is what the VMWare is on at the moment.

RE: Dell EqualLogic PS4100
I assume the EqualLogic can only handle certain harddrives?
Prior it was the DELL 600GB SAS HDD
I then replaced with DELL 1.92TB SAS SSD drives
Both labeled Enterprise Class certified by DELL.I have reset and replaced the drives as if this was a first time setup.
Then create the raid setup and then volumes,,
But not liking the drives
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks for any help....When running the reset command.

RE: Backup Alternatives
@olivierlambert this backup looks really good. I currently in my VMware space use veeam. It's ok. I mainly just run backups of my virtuals and move them to an offline storage so if an encryption hack gets in, they can't encrypt the disks. So I run a script to move the file through a link to a Synology. That is just the VMs. For all my SQLs I run smss jobs to back up dbs and then transaction logs every 15 min. Again moving to offline storage. That gets me at least 15 min recovery to the crash. So I really do not focus too much on the backup software but to get me a VM back but my data i do separately so I have to ability to restore locally or move it to external resource. People here have some good discussions on the backup. Good thread

Dell EqualLogic PS4100
This is not really pertaining to XCP-NG, but I hope some who is using a Dell EqualLogic might know. I have an old PS4100 that I have replaced all the 12 hard drives with SAS SSDs (1.29TB) What was in before where the SAS 600GB drives. After installing these I powered up to get into the device, but for some reason the IP address for the group changed. I could not log in as the encrypted connection was checked and grayed out. PRIOR to that, the other address, I could uncheck the box and access the interface. the address 10.3.2.20 was the address I used for years to access the application and when I changed the drives, it went to 10.3.2.21 - I get all the way to the log in, but the encrypt box is stopping me from logging in.
SO, I reset the device, that went well. But when I log in and it asks me if I want to configure the array (through putty), and I select Y, it comes back with the disk array has not finished initializing and the commands will be limited, please try again later. Then it sends me to the CLI prompt. I really cannot do anything from here out.
Is this normal? The lights on the drives are orange top and green bottom. the two lights on the left side of the front panel, the Orange light on top will be on a 2 seconds and then off 2 seconds (repeats). Sometime I see the green lights on the drives flash.
Just wanted to make sure I did not mess something up. Was going to let it just run over night... Wonder if anyone else has seen this.
