Yes, Vinchin is a working backup solution on top of XCP-ng, but I cannot tell what they are doing with it exactly. I've seen a demo on backup/restore that worked, and on what I've seen back when I've been demonstrated, it worked.

Telling that's the recommended backup solution for XCP-ng is probably the power of marketing.

      See https://docs.xcp-ng.org/project/ecosystem/#-vm-backup

It's not agentless, it requires to run something in the Dom0, IIRC.

I am going to let things go for a week without VM backups via Vinchin. I have other website backups so I'm fine. However, does xcp-ng do coalesce on Sundays any other jobs that would fail with those extra leftover disks?

Also, I received a couple of emails regarding xoa trial. However, I tried it a long long time ago so I don't know if I can trial it again. Would xoa help look at things?

Let me know in private message your registered XOA trial email so I can extend it. From XOA, you should be able to watch what's going on. Even if in theory, an XOA free will be enough

I give up lol. Import the XVA "The attempt to load the VDI failed"

This snapshot has been purged of it's data. It only contains metadata and changed blocks.

@olivierlambert Sorry do you mean the destroy VI button. Will that cause any issues with the actual VM?

                                    I don't think so, it's just a snasphot.

@olivierlambert Is there anything scheduled by default in xcp-ng on Sundays? Or how often does it coalesce. Just trying to figure out why every Sunday these issues happen.

There's no schedule in XCP-ng. It's more about when you remove snapshots (without CBT). You can check about coalesce inside the /var/log/SMlog and try to watch what's going on on Sunday.

@olivierlambert Ok. Why does XOA show some with CBT and some without? How does that get set? I apologize, I am just trying to narrow this down. I appreciate all the help.

I suppose those snapshots were done via Vinchin, so I can't tell. You can clean all snapshots to get back on something clean before trying anything else.
