    XOA fails after update to 5.106.0

      @olivierlambert After upgrading XOA to 5.106.0, now all I see is an error has occurred.

      XOA was working, I did the normal self upgrade. XOA runs and after I login, it starts to load the normal page, I see the left side menu show up and then tries to load the normal normal VM running page URL of https://xoa/#/home?p=1&s=power_state%3Arunning+ and then drops to an empty page of an error has occurred. Any XOA page I try to access (including support) ends up dropping out to the same error page. I rebooted the XOA VM and the same issue happens.

      NOTE: XO from source (current master 3bb5900, same as release 5.106.0) works correctly.

          @Danp Same here. Update did not conclude with same error shown.

          This is why we have another XO instance running, so one click to revert to nightly snapshot 😜

            Please try updating to XOA 5.106.1 and let us know if that corrects the issue for you.

              @Danp Two steps forward, one step back. The update to 5.106.1 worked and XOA is reachable, but not usable...

              Now I get the error at the top:
              Your current Xen Orchestra license has expired (Dec 31, 1969). Please reach out to your vendor.

              But for Registration I have:
              You have a Xen Orchestra Appliance granted under trial. Your trial lasts until 12/31/2025, 10:59:31 AM

                    @Andrew Could you double check that you have activated the license on the XOA > Licenses tab?

                      @Danp Activate license resolved that issue, but this is different than before! Just having the trial license was enough to make everything work without error. So, trials will no long work without activation (may be that how it always should have worked).

                        @Andrew Thanks for confirming that it is now working. Yes, it should have worked this way all along, and recent updates were made to enforce it.

                            Just to check, you are using XOA Free, right? That shouldn't be blocked. Send me a private message with your registration email, we'll take a look 🙂

                              @olivierlambert I understand enforcement, but this is now draconian.

                              As a test:

                              I deployed XOA from the web. Fine.

                              But I can't update it without registering it. Fine.

                              I login with my Vates XOA account, now it says I'm registered and can update. So I update XOA.

                              Now I'm registered but not licensed and I get the error and can't use XOA Your current Xen Orchestra license has expired (Dec 31, 1969). Please reach out to your vendor.

                              I try to unregister, but that's not an option. I enter a bad email/password so registration fails, but I still get an error and am restricted.

                              So, there's no way for me to use and update a "free" XOA without forced registration on to a new account? I could use trial XOA and update without registering before. I could register but not use a XOA license and use the free version before...

                                Hmm weird, you should be able to use XOA Free, are you fully up to date?

                                edit: not able to update it without registration is a basic behavior since XOA exists. No update can be done without having an account. If you don't register, you are stuck to the version of XOA you download (on an XOA we generated maybe months ago)

                                edit2: can you be more specific on what you call "register" exactly?

                                  @olivierlambert Current version: 5.106.1

                                  On the XOA page, I enter my email/password in the Registration box.
                                  There's no way to 'unregister' and just use the free version.

                                  XOA knows I have a 'trial' but the license is not activated (because it is active on another XOA VM) and it locks into the XOA page only.

                                    Ah, so if you test with a fresh account, register your XOA free, update and it should works right? The issue is having a trial for multiple XOAs at once, right?

                                      I don't remember the procedure when I activated my XOA
                                      Here is how it looks in the license tab:

                                      I have 2 XOA, one latest and one stable.
                                      Maybe that is the problem.
                                      I probably made a copy of the first one, I can only find 1 activation e-mail.
                                      The stable one updated OK to 5.105.0

                                        I noticed there was a new update for 5.106.1
                                        I ran that and it did downgrade to 5.105.0

                                          Yesterday upgrading to XOA Free 5.106.1 left me in Expired License LOCK. Although switching the channel from latest to stable dropped XOA Free down to 5.105, XOA Free remained Expired License LOCKED. Yesterday Quick Deploy was Blocked, therefore I used the Source Code Version to restore my XOA Free 5.105 Backup, which worked normally.

                                          Today my Restored XOA Free 5.105 shows 5.105 is the "Current" Version, XOA 5.106.1 is NO longer available as an upgrade. Although Quick Deploy is no longer Blocked, I have not tried that option, making do with the XOA Free 5.105 I restored yesterday, as I wait for the Expired License Issue with XOA Free 5.106.1 to be resolved...

                                            What do you mean by blocked? Was the site down?

                                            Today my Restored XOA Free 5.105 shows 5.105 is the "Current" Version, XOA 5.106.1 is NO longer available as an upgrade.

                                            This is accurate if you are on the Stable release channel. v5.106.1 is still available on the Latest release channel.
