    @Cygace Someone from the community may jump in and help troubleshoot this. The best approach would be to not modify the Dom0 installation by installing Zabbix via a community post, as you're customizing the installation. The vates team and XCP-ng specifically need to include these packages to ensure you're able to get support. Best of luck

    @Berrick Ah cool, I was anticipating that doing it live would've caused boot issues but I think I've just got a bug in my head about how it actually works, I'm conflating two separate things based on an incorrect interpretation of a previous experience I had once with XCP. Thanks!

    I'm currently testing the "fixed" version. At the time I ran the replications the first time, I expected and accepted it doing new "first" full backups/transfers, but even this small, singe-disk VM (the one for my XO) is still doing full transfers: [image: 1758020284677-fe04762a-02ed-4b4e-9e14-fcb7be8330d9-image.png] This simple operation previously taking 2-5 minutes now takes 44 minutes: [image: 1758020534306-39bc2c0a-93dc-4627-8901-e24fb5ddf729-image.png] Compared to the previous "normal" backup time: [image: 1758020783674-19407049-8301-4a15-8afd-d6e3f78f36c6-image.png] The same goes for "Admin Ubuntu 24", single but slightly larger disk (50GB) which yesterday took 4 hours (initial "new" "first" backup, so I don't know if it still takes that time)

    @manilx I have proposed to the IaC team of Vates, a MCP Server for Vates VMS. Which can be used by GitHub Copilot or similar, if used when doing IaC etc.

    I think yes (I don't see why, if it's recent enough), but you won't have support in any case (as you'll use the version from the sources anyway).

    @tristis-oris i don’t have a definitive answer what would be the perfect memory configuration for your needs. I commented based on your earlier findings that VM memory usage was high which doesn’t take into account what OS inside VM is doing with the memory. As you observed, most of the memory is used by cache so it basically has nothing to do with XO, just how Linux manages the usable memory.

    @markhewitt1978 We want to involve the users community very early in the design of XO6 and have begun designing an initial questionnaire to submit to you to identify your expectations and current issues - We will later set up a tester program to continue to exchange throughout the process with users who are interested. It's a bit early to share more details, but stay tuned on the December release for XO, we have things in the pipe.

    I've added the support of advanced filtering in the API, it does no have first class support in xo-cli yet but it's usable anyway: xo-cli xo.getAllObjects limit=json:10 filter='type:/^VM$/ snapshots:length:>2'

Full backup interval forces a full after a number of delta exports. Force full backup forces a full when this specific schedule is ran, which allows for instance to do delta during the week and a full on Sunday. Ah, of course. So I can add a second schedule to the backup job, and in that I choose force full. nice. I did try to search in the https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/backups.html docs for it before asking.

    @adzmedia Hi adzmedia, I can give my nails cut for the fact that this is due to the overall slowness between the xcp-ng and XOA. I've been having similar issue and was pulling my hair, in a usecase where my xcpng was on the other side of the VPN wire, and the virtual console of the VM, could not be drawn on time to allow me hitting any key to run the content within the mounted iso. (in my scenario I I've been using xcp-ng centre) this issue become the relict of the past, when I did the same thing within my network (still over the vpn but utilizing a RDP of the machine within the LAN network). maybe apache quacamole will do the trick for you, to expose some way of reching it out. think about it. ps. I've been having this with BIOS / UEFI, at first place I thouht this is an uefi, but it was not.

    I opened that ticket myself. But it's an old bug that should have been solved or not reproduced since. You should at least upgrade to a supported version to see if it's still happening.
