Sorry for all the comments/posts...but I think I may have figured out why the failures occurred. I can again live migrate VMs after I shut down my XO VM then rebooted both of my XCP Hosts. Of course, I've not re-attempted live migrating my XO VM. Too risky! Again, that should be fixed. One of the requirements of live migration is guest tools needs to be installed, correct? So, it appears..if an attempt is made to live migrate a VM which doesn't have tools installed, it "hangs". I have several VMs like that. They're software appliances and currently I'm prevented from installing tools on them. After the non-tools installed VM hangs attemping a migration, if you attempt to live migrate a VM which does have tools installed, it will also hang...and my guess is because of the failure of the 1st VM without tools installed. Not sure why. If that is the case, that needs to be fixed as well. If this is not accurate, I would like to know why this migration hang/failure behavior occurs. I can re-attempt to live migrating a VM which doesn't have tools installed...but don't want to go through the hassle of powering everything down and rebooting my Hosts to get it working again

hello running xcp-ng version 8.2.1 build date 2025-05-07 restart of node has been done netdata-ui version 1.19 release 6.xcpng8.2 from xcp-ng-updates repo netdata version1.44.3 release 6.xcpng8.2 from xcp-ng-updates repo confirmed following also installed xen-dom0-libs-devel yajl-devel xen-devel i have removed and reinstalled netdata-ui as well this was working fine before but sometime in the last few months , maybe when netdata updated to the versions above and the interface all changed, VM's are no longer visible in netdata [image: 1747811341191-c0b11d3e-0a0f-41dc-b122-4f1e769a92fe-image.png] use to be a giant list of VMs here, this is happening on all my xcp-ng servers, not just the one. they are all at the above mentioned xcp-ng version and netdata version. anyone else experiencing this? have any suggestions on whats going on, why the VM's are not showing up in netdata anymore on any of my hosts?

Hi, From the XO root folder, just do a yarn run turbo run build --filter @xen-orchestra/web and then access the XO URL with /v6 in the end.

@llabtaem This issue has been resolved. I just needed to rebuild Xen Orchestra after adding the symbolic links. Then the plugins registered and I can now see them in the console.

@olivierlambert said in Error restore backup: No I mean the file level restore feature from XO. If it all worked, I'm curious to understand why you had this issue in the first place. Did you restore the entire chain? We had to restore the entire VM as a new instance from Xen Orchestra using the delta backup. However, the same error occurred with each restore point. So, we manually copied the backup files from XOA and imported them.

@gduperrey said in XCP-ng Tools Storage contains VDIs I’m unable to Destroy: It seems that it is possible to clean old isos manually, via the command line, as explained in this forum post: https://xcp-ng.org/forum/post/15703 Wau!!! That actually works like charm! Thank you sooooo much!

That happens to me about once every six weeks on one of the XO installs. For what its worth, if I just kill the XO vm and let it reboot, as long as its not out of disk space, it always works the second time.

@andrewperry yes, we replicate TrueNAS to a "standby" TrueNAS using zpool / truenas replication. Our current policy is hourly. We then (plan) to do Incremental replication of all VM's to a standby TrueNAS over weekends giving a 3 possible methods for recovery. Currently we're running into a major drawback with VM's on TrueNAS over NFS (specifically VM's that rely on fast storage such as databases and recordings). We did not anticipate such a huge drop in performance having VHD files over NFS. We're reaching out to XCP to ask them to give us some advice as it could likely be in part due to customization we can make.

@wildones It's good that the XCP hosts can reach each other, but that's not enough. XOA needs to reach all the hosts too. You may want to use an XO proxy to manage remote locations. Please read the XO proxy guide.

@BenjiReis I tried to fill in the IP address with brackets, but then the discovery of the NFS shares fails. With regular SRs, it works fine without using brackets.

In fact it's already possible In your replication job: Edit the schedule, check "Health check" box. Target the same SR than your VM are replicated too And voila!

@stormi So I looked into the code of the ISOSR and there is a parameter for the version in the device-config. The parameter is vers but it can only be V1 or V3. And if it can't connect with V3, it will also try with V1.
